Karuna is the founder and lead teacher of Akanista Mindfulness. He had been a Buddhist monk for 15 years in Sri Lanka and Thailand and holds a Masters Degree in Buddhist Studies from SOAS, University of London. He is also a serving interfaith chaplain to Imperial College London and Royal College of Arts.
Nitima is an integrative counsellor, life coach and mindfulness teacher. She is also co-founder and head of education of Akanista Mindfulness and have facilitated many workshops in Imperial College, Royal College of arts, and leading corporate companies such as Soho House, Coats, BAT and Save the Children to name the few. She has facilitated residential and non residential retreats in the UK and in Portugal.
Rahul is the head of research at Akanista. Besides being a mindfulness practitioner, he also has a keen interest in understanding the evidence in how the mindfulness practice can improve the well being of individuals and the performance of teams/organizations. He is currently a PhD candidate at the Imperial College and actively engaged in the start-up scene in London.
Lara is the head of corporate partnership and engagement at Akanista Mindfulness. Besides being an entrepreneur, she is a keen mindfulness practitioner. Lara’s mission is to look after people, to teach the values of being kind to yourself and others and to encourage young people to spend time with older people channelling the innocence and wisdom they both share.
