Location

Gomde Pyrénées is an international Buddhist retreat center under the guidance of Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche. The center is located on 7 hectares (17.5 acres) in the Aspres region of the Pyrénées Orientales, at an altitude of 900 m, not far from the city of Perpignan. The property is covered with fields of grass, oak, beech, fruit and chestnut trees. This is a very secluded and undisturbed natural environment where the only sounds you are likely to hear would be those of sheep, bird songs and the gentle noise of rustling leaves. This blessed land, with its blue sky canopy and pristine air, is bathed nearly 300 days a year in sunshine while enjoying the protection of the Natura 2000 European Law.

Testimonial

I would encourage anybody who is going through stuff in their lives to come to this retreat to find peace of mind and connect with their being and bloom like a flower.

Michael, English former professional footballer.

I have been meditating every day since we met.

Suzy, Editor at Psychologies magazine.

I felt fantastic. So much more grounded and this was a massive lesson in dealing with stressful situations. They have something really special about them.”

Nicola, CEO Maia Luxury.

You provided me with an amazing experience of well-being. The provision of tools enable me to develop a coping strategy. This has been so empowering.

Nikki, Choices 4 All.

Karuna’s teachings were profound and his meditation training was a life changer for me.

Natalie, Sothebys.

Akanista mindfulness classes have shown me a simple yet highly effective way of becoming calmer and focused in my day to day life. The recordings that are provided at the end of each class are helping me practise the techniques on a daily basis. All in all, very useful class and I strongly recommend it to anyone who wishes to bring more calmness in their lives

Bhargav, MEC Global.

Really comfortable, dynamic and life-changing retreat! It really brought the group together, created a family atmosphere, and really brought new ways of looking at old, reacting issues.  Most importantly, their kindness was real – and I really think this has made much a difference to my life.  Definitely the best retreat I have had in my life!

Elizabeth, Intercultural Services Manager.

The retreat was a wonderful experience, and I am so glad I attended. It was just what I needed to manage my hectic life. It has given me the ability to learn how to be mindful in my daily life, so I don’t become stuck in the chaos that can sometimes overtake me. Thank you so much.

Prity, Integrative Therapist.

I just want to let everybody know that one of the major benefits I had from this retreat is how I look at myself as a whole person. I learn how to be loving to myself, kinder to myself and more gentle on forgiving myself instead of being constantly hard on myself. And I want to thank you for the retreat. I would recommend practically to everyone. If you are suffering from any emotional turmoil, this retreat will help you to settle within yourself and be non-judgmental of others. I would highly recommend to those who work with people in large organisations. Because you are working with a diverse group who all are looking at life from a different perspective. And sometime you don’t as yourself understand or forgive their perspective when it doesn’t agree with yours. So there are many majority of people who would greatly benefit from this retreat.

Cathryn, Estates and Facilities Director.

I enjoyed the retreat a lot, got more than what I expected. You have to open your mind in this retreat. Let it go and have no expectation. Just come along and things will unfold themselves naturally. You will see something completely new and amazing. You will have to live it to understand.

Bruno, Entrepreneur.
