She studied Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy, NLP & Counselling Skills at the Contemporary College of Therapeutic Studies (CCTS ) and is a member of the Counsellors Together UK (CTUK).

As the Co-founder at Akanista, she spreads positive vibes through wellbeing workshops at prestigious places, including Imperial College London, Royal College of Art, and leading corporate companies such as Soho House, Coats, BAT, Cushman & Wakefield Save the Children to name a few. She facilitates residential and non residential retreats in the UK and in Europe.

With over 15 years of dedicated practice in Mindfulness, Nitima brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her clients. Mindfulness is the foundation of all therapeutic worlds. It is when you are absence of your mindfulness you begin to dwell into the past traumatic memories and worries about future that is never going to happen resulting in stress, anxiety, depression which will further lead in physical illnesses.

Mindfulness practice allows you to be fully aware of the present moment non- judgementally with practice. Modern scientist, therapist, schools and many corporate companies have borrowed from 2600 years old Buddhist practice, which now has science behind the benefits of practicing regularly. Research has shown that Mindfulness practice: Reduces stress, reduces physical pain, allows you to be more creative, attentive but to name few.

Psychotherapy aims to help clients gain insight into their difficulties or distress to understand their motivation and enable them to find more appropriate ways of coping or bring about change in their thinking and behaviour pattern. Depending on the presented problem psychotherapy has its own way of working in-depth using art, photo, dream, symbols, and imaginative techniques.

Cognitive Behaviour therapy (CBT) is a psychotherapeutic approach aims to help you understand how your problems began and what keeps them going. CBT works by helping you to link the way that you think (thoughts, beliefs, assumptions), with you feel (emotions) and what you do (behaviour). There are range of techniques that helps you understand the link between your thoughts, emotions and behaviour. As a result you will be able to manage your problems by changing how you think (cognitive) and what you do (behaviour) which can help you feel better about your life.

Neuro- Linguistic Programming. Neurological system regulates how our bodies function, language determines how we interface and communicate with other people and our programming determines the kinds of model of the world we create. NLP is the fundamental dynamics between mind (neuro) and language (linguistic) and how their interplay affects our body and behaviour (programming). NLP provides tools and skills for the development of states of individual by empowering beliefs and presuppositions about communications and the process of change. It is also about self- discovery, exploring identity and mission.

To understand hypnotherapy approach it is necessary to understand how the mind works. In simplified term we can say that the mind has conscious part that is responsible for rations thought, decision making, analyzing etc. And subconscious that controls emotions, feelings; it stores all past memories and controls all the automatic physical side of your body. Our emotions are not always in balance due to inner conflict caused by repressed feelings and un-dealt emotions from the past and stressful things that happens on day to day life. We adopt certain behaviour and seem almost impossible to change because they are stored so deep in us. This is because our subconscious mind holds preconceptions of our past experiences and repeats every time something similar comes up. Many of our internal decision were installed at an early age, most of which you probably don’t even remember on conscious level and are now completely outdated. So we need to go little bit deeper than conscious mind to reinstall new programs in our subconscious mind.

Psychological therapy and counselling is the treatment on conscious level for emotional and psychological disorders, unwanted habits, and undesirable feelings. Through hypnosis we can relax the critical and rational mind to gain access directly to the innermost part of our mind and resolve the root cause that created these unwanted behaviour, limiting beliefs and undesired emotions. Once resolved by suggesting new, positive and creative suggestions enables us to move ahead guiding our life to a healthier path.

Clients are normally relaxed yet fully aware of things happening in your mind and the environment outside. Analytical techniques may be used in an attempt to uncover deep rooted problems that client is unaware of in the past.

Hypno-analysis is a method where hypnosis is conjunction with psychoanalysis. This technique is used to uncover the original cause of psychological and emotional issue by going to the root cause of the problem. Once it is revealed we bring our past to a resolution so it no longer bothers us.

Hypno- analysis can work on anger, hurt, fear, stress, lack of confidence, trauma, PTSD and more. These conditions are only symptoms of an underlying anxiety such as buried trauma, emotions, shock etc. If emotions are not expressed at the time of event, they are repressed. Hypno- analysis can clear your buried emotion if you have had a difficult or challenging childhood such as bullying, abuse etc. the best way to help problems caused by blocked emotions is to release these feelings.

This technique involves of identifying the root cause of the problem. We will explore thoughts and feeling around conflict by doing inner child work. It is more than often found the conflict is due to repressed emotions during young age. On the process the inner child would mature and ending by providing support and nourishment.

EFT is an alternative intervention and psychotherapy technique. EFT is simple yet remarkable healing system that reduces emotional and physical stress. It has proven itself successful in many scientific studies and works on variety of health issues, psychological problems and performance issues. It is a combination of energy medicine and needleless acupuncture, relies on subtle energies in our body that are connected to the way we think and behave. Therefore by focusing on the negative emotions and tapping on the meridian points can help to release the repressed emotions that are stored in parts of our body.

Nitima uses EFT in combination with inner child work from which you will have an opportunity to go through re parenting process. This process is about acceptance and being present for self without judging and with self compassion.
